Bill Robin ( Dub War / Tempa / South London Hi-fi)

Born in 1970′s South London & heavily influenced by the cultural melting pot of his hometown, Bill Robin has been working with electronic music since he 12.

Dub War:

Dub War is Benny ill (Horsepower Productions) & Bill Robin (Rebel HiFi), both hailing from South London – Dub War is one of a number of pseudonyms carried by the pair since 1992 (Bill & Ben, Drunken Master, Dynamite Man & The Detonator, Lost Sector, Markarian 205, Oligo, Sonar Audio Research, Sonic Man).Dub War’s debut ‘Murderous Riddim / Generation’ was released on Tempa in 2001 (Tempa004) and went on to become one in a hand full of releases which would later typify the dubstep sound. The 2nd EP ‘The Funky Deal / To The Depths’ was released on Tempa in 2011.

Skratch (Project Squared / Aquatic Lab)
A DJ true to the craft, Skratch has been perfecting his deck work along with his vast record collection for over 13 years, taking crowds to a deeper spot with his tight mixing and educated selection, tightly combining hidden gems with the best new music around.
Mixing purely with vinyl and dubplates, his dedicated and perfectionist approach developed from his early love of hip-hop and turntablism, with his ever evolving knowledge taking him through Jungle, Electronica and since 2005, deep into Dubstep and Bass.
This obvious passion for the cause has seen him showcasing his skills at some of the most prestigious nights on the world stage, including Sub:Stance at the legendary Berghain, the infamous Wax Treatments parties and also his residency for long standing Dubstep institution, Version.
mackjiggah
Mackjiggah ( Shlomp / Wax Treatment)
“…Has been a local Dubstep pioneer ever since the sound hit Berlin back in 2005. DJing experimental HipHop, Mackjiggah was hugely inspired by the Grimetime party series. As he went to Hardwax to get some Grime on vinyl, he was handed only one 12″ with the comment that he might also check for those grime-like, instrumental records they`re selling. There was no name for it, no formular, no hype, just that great excitement for something new, weird sounding…whatever you call it.

Bardeya ( Aquatic Lab / Templar Sound)
Originally conceived in London as a side project, but now based in Berlin, Bardeya is a German-born producer and DJ, slowly but surely making waves through his resurgent alter ego.Primarily concerned with the intricate offshoots of dubstep, Hardwax techno, and Autonomic drum n’ bass, Bardeya is able to convert these influences into a format that is both accessible and futurist, all in the pursuit of new territory. Readily bass-heavy and percussively intense, Bardeya’s productions embrace the ongoing potential of the wider electronic spectrum, both experimentally and on the dancefloor.

Thursday, 25 of April, 23.30 CET – 2.30 AM CET
TV Stream: http://www.alex-berlin.de/tv/livestream or http://twenfm.org/884/tv-streams/

Spring has finally arrived and Twen FM is broadcasting from a new studio.

This Thursday, Uta is proudly presenting three self-professed “music nerds” in her show.

Elisabeth

Elisabeth (Leaves / Horst Kreuzberg)

You can find Elisabeth spinning real vinyl besides e.g.:Kassem Mosse, Lawrence, Sven Weisemann, Delano Smith, Function, Tama Sumo, Rødhåd, John Roberts at About Blank and legendary Horst Club Kreuzberg. Her style can be various from Detroit “stopover” Chicago and at the moment she prefers more to “stay” in London to play UK Bass.

Sarah Farina

Sarah Farina (Through My Speakers)

We are happy to have her for the third time in our studio. Sarah has already supported some of the most respected of her bass music contemporaries, both locally and abroad, warming the decks for Kode9 and Cooly G for a Hyperdub label night in Berlin; DJ’d for Lazer Sword’s album release party and played alongside Lunice, DJ Rashad and Scratcha DVA in Berlin. Her gig at Amsterdam’s Trouw for 2012 Applesap Festival afterparty alongside UK men-of-the-moment, Disclosure, turned the heads of all who attended.

MEET: ANTONIO OLIVERI

Antonio Olivieri, born in Italy, is a passionate music lover. Exhausted by the mainstream philosophy after some experiences with major Italian labels such as Saifam Group, Antonio moved to Berlin in 2008 to fulfill his philosophical view on modern electronic music.
At this point he had already left pure dj-ing and put his focus on performing live sets to convey a genuine live-feeling to the audience. The audible result is a dancefloor journey through Funk, Tech-House and a tasty mix of solid grooves and extraordinary melody sequences. In the past Antonio surely proved that he is a capable and highly skilled actor, touching different moods and styles of house music with some excursion into deep and techno. Listening to his music, it is not hard to notice his aptitude for melody, which is probably an imprinting residue of Antonio’s education on classical guitar over many years.
Latest vinyl and digital releases are on “LustundFreu.de”, “Darkrrom Dubs”, and newly on “Steyoyoke”. Another EP worth mentioning is surely “Noton” with the Belgian label “Lift Your Head Up” (an unconventional approach on classical guitar recordings and nasty, basic rhythms).
Antonio’s belief in concrete and emotional music prevails, as a statement in opposition to library based arrangements and the aesthetic crisis happening today.

Steyoyoke is a label that holds the rare power of being able to combine unique art and music whilst not swamping the other. Twen FM is gonna have the D*ruffalo Hit Squad live in the studio! Tune in for the finest music selection!

Druffalo (the blog to be found under www.druffmix.com) was founded in 2007 by a group around Berlin-based journo-cum-real estate entrepreneur Finn Johannsen, then London-based real-estate-entrepreneur-cum-blogger Kummi and a mysterious super star top 3 RA Poll DJ (Berlin based and nowadays unassociated with the blog). Soon enough their numbers were strengthened by people like former Cocoon-resident and travel industry entrepreneur Marc Schaller, two former Milk!-Mannheim residents named Groover and Seebase and – last but not least – the mysterious man from Icasol, the founder of CTF records, a label specializing in jazz rarities and country billy, which is a front for Kummi’s 2nd grade elementary school art which Icasol (from Suebia) sells for a lot of money to the Berlin glitterati. The Druffalos – under the name Druffalo Hit Squad – also organize and host parties, most notably their Love Fools series in the now defunkt Soju Bar (everywhere they have been there is scorched earth). They play their lovely mix of hooligan soul and 5-star-hotel-fuckbuddy-pick-up-coke-lounge-music, but mostly warm and bubbly stuff from the past 45 years. From peak time stuff by the Walker Brothers to end of night Nu NRG or vice versa.

+ WELL DONE! MUSIC LABEL Info – Deutsch

Music”.

WellDone! – Music 001 – Marlon Hoffstadt – I Got Love EP (incl. Mat.Joe Remix & Patryk Molinari Remix)
http://soundcloud.com/welldone-music/marlon-hoffstadt-i-got-love-ep

Info – English

By now, every Berliner should very well know Well Done!. The Party series, which takes place every Wednesday at Suicide Circus, has made a name for itself in the last two years and has hosted many international acts. Now we proudly announce the first release on the label by the same name “Well Done! Music”.

You Make Me Feel Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnoWrkA72YE&feature=player_embedded

“I Got Love” is the name of the release by the 18-year old Berliner, Marlon Hoffstadt. With his second publication he will bring an old school hip hop classic back to life. Mat.Joe, who just published the Beatport chart hit “Heart to Find” on OFF Recordings, are just the best ones to remix this piece. Patryk Molinari, the youngest of the Exploited crew contributes a rather peaceful and deeper track.

+ MARLON HOFFSTADT (WELL DONE!)
http://www.facebook.com/marlon.hoffstadt1
www.marlonhoffstadt.com

+ HRRSN (WELL DONE!)
http://www.facebook.com/officialharrison

+ MAT.JOE (OFF RECORDINGS)
mat.joe: Your one and only producer and DJ team straight outta Berlin-Neukölln. Dirty, dancy, deep. Check out our Band Page for the latest tracks. Peace.
Biography
Mat.Joe. Matze and Johannes, two young men with a Hip Hop and House affection conquering Berlin.

Their productions come to life in a Neukölln backyard where studio equipment and DJ decks meet desiccated plants. A natural development when music has become the top priority from dusk till dawn.
Back in 2006, Rap, Breakdance and Skateboarding were the passions that made them best buddies and this deep connection is reflected in their music, again and again. In 2008, they formed the producer team Twomanics and concentrated on authentic and credible hip hop productions for independent artists. Originally from Hannover, they moved to Berlin for new artistic challenges and after MySpace, mixtapes and MDMA, Mat.Joe have found their own style: crispy Housebeats paired with rhythmic Soul and Hip Hop elements. The result is deep and dancefloor-qualified, warm and rough.
Inspiration is found everywhere between subway rides, late night showers and favorite bars. New ideas are kept manically on every smartphone nearby. This is sound autism at the highest stage. Mat.Joe’s love for music and the ambition to improve are the main ingredients that keep the engine running. See you there.

+ PATRYK MOLINARI (EXPLOITED RECORDS)

Patryk was born near Berlin in the middle of the 80s and started early to develop a deep relationship to music.
He has always felt very close to electronic music. But it was not before his 18th birthday that the passion grew so strong that he tried his own productions.
In the beginning using LoFi equipment he tried to transfer music of any kind into his very own productions. Back then he has been strongly influenced by the Big Beat scene in England and Vienna Scientists like Kruder &
Dorfmeister. He tried out different styles until he discovered the house scene. He decided to get his own equipment and to share the music that he admires so much with others. Soon he developed an affection for Deep and French house.
Bit by bit the minimalistic sounds hit him and he worked full of enthusiasm on his first minimalistic productions.
His tracks are strongly influenced by the flourishing and always self reinventing Berlin night life.
Artists like Seuil, Christian Burkhardt, Michael Melchner, Robert Dietz, Boris Werner, Nekes, Federico Molinari and Dyed Soundorom are currently among those that influence him most.
But also Nu Jazz, Easy Listening and Soul can be found occasionally in his music.
*

Twen FM Clubnacht: DJ Flush (Killekill), Snuffo LIVE (Snuff Trax), Estimulo & Makarov (Club Fantastic)

25/01/2013

Saturday 26 January, 23.59 CET – 4 AM CET
Radio Stream: http://twenfm.org/884/
FM: 88.4 MHz & 90.7 MHz Berlin / Potsdam

ABOUT DJ FLUSH:

DJ FLUSH is the main man behind KILLEKILL and has been a DJ for 15 years now playing more or less all Berlin clubs as well as internationally. Pushing the borders of electronic music, his mixes cross over from chicago jack and booty tracks to electro, from distorted no future techno sounds to rather minimal funk – dirty, freaky and often with a big drop of acid. With his long experience and his diverse influences he brings together different sounds and styles and manages to hold the thin line between being there for his audience to make them have a raving party – and educating as an innovator.

ABOUT KILLEKILL:

KILLEKILL is one of the best known crews of artists and promters in Berlin. Their events at Berghain Kantine, Suicide Circus and Horst Krzbrg are focussing techno, house and electro with an experimental twist and hosted a wide range of artists until now such as ABE DUQUE, SANDWELL DISTRICT, TIM EXILE, REDSHAPE, OTTO VON SCHIRACH, T.RAUMSCHMIERE, CRISTIAN VOGEL and many, many more.

check www.killekill.com for releases, events and more.

Also woth keeping an eye on is the new sublabel KILLEKILL HOUSE TRAX with first releases of artists like Affie Yusuf, Alex Cortex or  Gebrüder Teichmann.

Killekill started in 2010 to co-produce the Krake Festival, a festival for experimental dance music. See www.krake-festival.de for more info on this.

ABOUT SNUFFO:

————————-

PocoLoco (SoundCloud) is a Berlin based DJ born in the obscurity of the city of Schweinfurt. He made his first musical steps by playing self-taught guitar and bass guitar before he discovered the depth of electronic dance music. With the age of 15 he spent all his salary of a summer vacation job on his first decks and has never regretted it. After relocating to study in Hamburg, a short stop in South America he finally came to Berlin where he found the right input to give his creativity free reign.

He started playing in bars and cafés every couple of weeks and rocked several private parties in his hometown. Elaborating his own style over the past years he recently played smaller and bigger clubs in Berlin paired with events and parties from dark basements to sunny rooftops. He’s known for extended DJ sets of 4 or 8 hours into the sunrise spinned with a skilled ability to create a unique experience with an arc of suspense of an epic story but never loosing the deep red line. He’s gathering his inspiration from the sound of artists like Kane Roth, Butane, Cesare vs. Disorder, Camea, Martin Buttrich, tINI, Ricardo Villalobos, Wehbba, Maya Jane Coles and more.

————————-

Derek Plasaiko

Some people filter through the record bins, taking what are on the wall or record store employee suggestions. Then there are people who dig deeper into the dusty crates, and absorb music like a sponge; ignoring labels, bucking trends and are forever on a quest to find the perfect record. The ones that make the staunchest of chin stroking, note taking trainspotters lose their shit on the dancefloor, hanging on every record from one to the next.

Derek Plaslaiko unquestionably falls into the latter category. As a teen equally transfixed by Mojo and Wizard cassettes and Minor Threat 7”s, Plaslaiko followed the beats from his hometown 20 miles south of Detroit to the epicenter of Detroit techno, then enjoying its third wave of success. He quietly paid his dues on Detroit’s rave circuit, and was a crucial piece of the puzzle for the legendary Poorboy and Syst3m parties of the mid-nineties. He quickly earned a reputation for forward thinking DJ sets that were clinical, sophisticated and extremely sensual. This combination resulted in a residency for Family, the weekly party at Detroit’s legendary Motor.

Ghostly International is a multi-platform cultural curator, a tightly knit aesthetic universe fulfilling the roles of art gallery, design house, clothing designer, technology innovator, music-publishing company—and, yes, record label—in one. In the years since its birth in 1999, Ghostly has grown from a boutique label known for its experimental-pop and -techno acumen to an internationally recognized platform for the work of the world’s best visual artists, designers, technologists, and musicians.

And what does Ghostly sound like? “Genre-less” was a term thrown about a good bit in the early days, and that idea still holds true: Ghostly’s music—all of its artistic output, really—gracefully straddles (or else entirely ignores) stylistic divisions, transcending musty categories like “electronic”, “pop”, “house”, or “techno” and carving out a space in which sounds and ideas can cavort without inhibition. The label itself is twofold: Ghostly International’s output falls under the heading of “avant-pop”—nominally, music of electronic means and pop methodology, but encompassing much more—and sibling label Spectral Sound, Ghostly’s dance-music imprint.
