FD (Metalheadz / Critical)
A musical maven with deep roots in London’s underground club scene, FD joins the dots between jungle, techno, 2-step, drum & bass and beyond in his own inimitable style. Moods and grooves characterise his productions and the same open-minded approach to DJing has seen demand for sets across the UK & Europe, including appearances at Fabric and Sardinia’s Sun & Bass festival.
Releasing on leading labels like Metalheadz, Invisible, Critical and Subtitles, he’s already collaborated with a range of respected producers including Ulterior Motive, Fracture and Zero T and vocalist Collette Warren. Stepping up with more solo material in 2013, he’s looking forward to another busy year.
Internet, radio, and nightclub DJ, event promoter, record label owner and artist mentor, Geoff Wright aka DJ Presha’s list of accomplishments and roles within the music industry are immense. Even more impressive is that he has been a forerunner in each of these disciplines, firmly entrenching himself within the sonic architecture of drum and bass culture worldwide.
Through his Samurai Music / Samurai Red Seal record labels, his many radio shows over the years, club sets, & events promotion companies, Presha has served as a guiding hand in the growth and development of the New Zealand scene and has assisted heavily in establishing the International export of artists such as Tokyo Prose, State of Mind, Trei, and Dose amongst others.
2011 saw an indefinite relocation to Europe for Presha, a move essential to the growth and longevity of both the Samurai Music labels and his devotion to the art of Drum and Bass DJing. 2012 was the busiest year to date for the Samurai Music group with high profile releases from the artist stable including Calibre, Klute, Marcus Intalex, Dub Phizix & Skeptical, Loxy & Resound, ASC, Nymfo, Tokyo Prose, Fis, Clarity and many more.
Ex-speed metal vocalist, old-school skateboarding aficionado, Japanese art enthusiast and lifelong cross- genre music lover, Presha has DJed extensively across New Zealand, Australia, Europe, Japan and America alongside top International drum and bass talent such as Klute, Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Doc Scott, and more recently for A Bunch Of Cuts & Soulu:tion and his own Samurai Music Label Nights. With every set, Presha brings a wealth of maturity and experience to his selections, ultimately reflecting the highs and lows of a life lived on the frontlines of music.
Skratch (Project Squared / Work)
A DJ true to the craft, Skratch has been perfecting his deck work along with his vast record collection for over 13 years, taking crowds to a deeper spot with his tight mixing and educated selection, tightly combining hidden gems with the best new music around. Mixing purely with vinyl and dubplates, his dedicated and perfectionist approach developed from his early love of hip-hop and turntablism, with his ever evolving knowledge taking him through Jungle, Electronica and since 2005, deep into Dubstep and Bass. This obvious passion for the cause has seen him showcasing his skills at some of the most prestigious nights on the world stage, including Sub:Stance at the legendary Berghain, the infamous Wax Treatments parties and also his residency for long standing Dubstep institution, Version.
