Rino Cerrone was born in Naples in 1972. His spirit of adventure already brought him in a youth age to take part to the national motorcycle competitions, getting good results. But evidently his objectives went beyond of the motorcycling and his passion for music immediately grew up. It was in fact at the end of the Eighties that Rino started to get in touch with musical reality that contributed to the formation of his actual style. In the adolescent age he participated to the punk and rock concerts around Italy, and he started to draw near to the underground scene of squatters and illegal parties. He was fascinated then by new sonorities proposed by groups as Orb and Future Sound of London, whose dreamy and chill out atmospheres immediately, captured his attention, and they increased his curiosity toward electronic music.

Im BBC Radiophonic Workshop kümmerte man sich zwischen 1958 und 1998 um neue Musik und Effekte für die BBC.

Dieser Workshop ist für uns vor allem wegen Delia Derbyshire auch heute noch interessant. Sie war es, die dort das Bandmaschinen Beat-Matching perfektionierte und dort mit ihren Kollegen aus Tape-Loops und einem Ring-Modulator wirklich innovative Musik erschuf.

Es ist nicht nur der berühmte Titel Track für Dr. Who, der noch 40 Jahre später nichts von seiner Magie verloren hat. Im Fundus von Delia Derbyshire finden sich z.B. auch großartige Ambient-Soundkollagen und sogar Tracks, die noch heute als lupenreine Minimal-Dancetracks durchgehen.

Futura is an event organizer and DJ collective from Berlin – deeply rooted in the cities’ underground dance music scene
and holding up a strong love for high-quality and emotional music no matter what it’s called.
Regularly running parties with guests djs like I-F, Gerd Janson, Keith Worthy, Traxx, Kuba Soika, Fabric Liq, Snuff Crew, etc.
The parties consist of different styles and atmospheres but always oscillates around a housy feeling and a jacking groove.
Founded in 2008, the first futura evenings took place at the now legendary M12 club located at Berlin’s Alexanderplatz
with DJs like Fiedel (MMM, Berghain), Kriton (melting point).

The idea was not only to have different musical styles but also to emphasize visual aspects of night life – preferably
by visual artists U-Matic & Telematique.
